My research examines human-animal interactions and their environmental contexts, focusing on how humans and animals adapt to, exploit, and transform their ecological and social landscapes. Utilizing zooarchaeology, stable isotope analysis, and ancient DNA, I investigate these adaptive strategies. Specifically, my work centers on the transition from hunting to herding and the advent of pastoralism, and how these changes relate to broader sociopolitical changes.
